Yoga and mindfulness experiences and events

Join us for unique yoga experiences from workshop to Paddleboard Yoga, to retreats to yoga in the park. Enhance your existing yoga practice, explore meditation, shaking up your foundation, trusting your self, home in on all your senses... And here's the important part: these events are accessible to everyBODY...

A regular practice is heroic - arriving to your favorite studio, rolling out your mat, and letting yourself be guided into breath, posture and awareness. But now and then, maybe take your practice on a little exploration. On the water, to the park, woods, to a retreat or workshop. Keep exploring, keep pushing outside your comfort zone. Embrace the three powers of Shiva - Iccha Shakti – the energy of will or desire, Jnana Shakti – the energy of knowledge and Kriya Shakti – the energy of action. Join us!

Are you “meditation-curious” or do you have a dedicated meditation practice? Are you open to finding ways to enhance all 5 senses? Are you longing for connection outside of your normal routine of workout, work, rinse and repeat? Here you will find a safe space to evolve, learn, grow and practice. We will share some tools, styles and variations of working with your “monkey mind”. Sharing our energies together, we'll turn inward while being supported by a beautiful community of yogis.

Joni has been teaching yoga since 2015. After she earned her initial 200 hour training she discovered the joy of yoga on a paddleboard and pursued more training to open a "floating studio." Now, a 500-hour certified teacher, she teaches alignment based yoga as it applies to Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and of course SUP! Follow her here.

Tamara has been teaching Vinyasa, Hatha and power yoga since 2009. Her love for Asana (the physical aspects of yoga) has grown into a deeper investigation into the many paths (8 limbs) of yoga. Tamara has been teaching Vinyasa, Hatha and power yoga since 2009. Her love for Asana (the physical aspects of yoga) has grown into a deeper investigation into the many paths (8 limbs) of yoga. Leading “mindfulness retreats” in Colorado and Arizona has deepened her passion for connection, and making yoga and meditation accessible to all people. As a certified meditation coach, Tamara was inspired to launch The Lotus Lounge as an a way to encourage us to take YOGA off the mat and into our daily lives.
WHY AND WHAT
We’ll be crafting offerings around the seasonal changes - both the physical change of the season, but also the very real emotional, mental and spiritual cycles that happen as we move from season to season - yes, it’s a metaphor! Life happens, and nothing stays the same. Adjusting our inner world to the outer requires a pause, a ritual maybe. kids, family, jobs - loss, grief, joy, ecstacy, awe, anxiety…ALL OF it. We want to offer a way to acknowledge, recognize, honor all of that, aligning with the seasons - yours, mother natures and the collective “Kula."
KULA
We’re creating a Kula: The term is used within yoga to highlight the sense of community that is developed by those who come together to practice. In likening the yoga community to family, the term kula denotes the inclusivity and sense of belonging that is often cultivated through yoga.
Any group of people who come together to practice yoga with shared intentions can be considered a kula. Generally, this suggests a welcoming, open-minded and accepting community of practitioners.

AUTUNM KULA: OCTOBER 8
Lotus Lounge welcomes you to a co-creation event. This magical Colorado outdoor space, Colorow Cave, inspired a small group of community wisdom keepers to gather together and share tools and practices. On October 8, we hope to cultivate a space filled with curiosity, community and healing. Join us to explore, practice, play and take all of our own magic back into the world. We are all healers, come and listen to the wisdom within yourself. Yoga, meditation, Qigong, energy clearning and journaling will be experienced.

By rooting into the earth – literally the mud beneath the surface of a pond or river, the lotus represents grounding into the stability and balance of earth in order to learn and grow towards the light: divine consciousness. When the flower reaches the surface it abounds above the water and opens its petals into a beautiful bowl shape, it shows the attainment of spiritual knowledge and the opening of the soul to the higher realms beyond the physical earth. The full form of the lotus flower depicts the integrated body, mind, and spirit systems that come into union from our human bodies to enlightenment. While we swim through our mortal lives, mud, murky water and all...if we maintain our roots with the earth and seek connection with the divine above the water, we can remain unwavering in our spiritual quests and stay open to infinite possibilities! Another way to put it? "No Mud, No Lotus." At The Lotus Lounge, we are firming the foundation and working to navigate through the water toward the light. Join us.
